Mica Pollock (2017), in her book, School Talk: Rethinking What we Say About-And to--Students Every Day, defined an Equity Designer as, "...someone who ask, daily, which actions and situations need to be improved so all young people get the opportunities and support they need and deserve (pg. 3)." We can, and should, be Equity Designers.
As we work on your school improvement efforts, we will look to see how we can improve the educational experiences of all students. We will also take a look at your disproportionality rate to ensure students of color, students in the Special Education Program and English Language Learners get the learning experiences they need and deserve.
